Jodi & Tyler Fernie Wedding Photography

Jodi and Tyler got married this summer out at Tie Lake.  They held the wedding in the backyard of Tyler's parents' cabin.  The location was gorgeous with the "I do's" out at the end of the dock.  I'm afraid my photography didn't do the setting justice.

Wedding Photography: Lisa and Dave

I always find it interesting that in a town as small as Fernie, I can still meet people who've been here as long I have, have many of the same friends that I do, and yet we have never met.  Lisa and Dave are a perfect example of this.  We've both lived in town for around 5 years, have a lot of the same friends/ acquaintances, but we had not met until Lisa emailed me to ask about shooting her wedding!
Their wedding was at the RAW Lodge (formerly Elk View Lodge) and if anyone out there is reading this and looking for a wedding venue, I would highly reccommend it!  Not only is this place a photographer's dream,  but its a pretty romantic setting too.

Engagement Photos: Sherry and Daniel

The world is a small place.  This spring I got a call from Sherry, she is getting married in Fernie at the end of the summer, and needs a wedding photographer.  I still hadn't booked the date, so I offered to meet with them and discuss how I might be of service.  We met at Picnic Restaurant in Fernie, and after getting through some of the wedding day details, I asked how they met.  Well, she moved to New Zealand for 6 months of study, and met a boy, and finally left 5 years later.  I've been to N.Z. so I asked them where they were.  They were in Hamilton.  I too lived just outside of Hamilton for awhile, so we chatted about this and that, and Daniel mentioned that he worked at an apiary, and said I did too for awhile.  The conversation kind of drifted a bit, and Sherry suddenly asked where I lived exactly.  I said with my dad's cousin, and her husband.  They lived on one side of Lake Karapiro, but were building a house on the other side, they had bought some land, and were moving house... she interrupted and asked what I did for work while I was there.  I explained that my dad's cousin's husband ran an apiary (bee farm), and worked for him.  Sherry and Daniel looked at each other, and Daniel asked, "Your nickname isn't Milky is it?"  Floored, I said no, but that is what they named my buddy that I went over there with!  Apparently Daniel had worked for my dad's cousin for 2 years!

Well, that pretty much sealed the deal, and so here are some images from our engagement session.

Enjoy!
